Summit the 48 4000-Footers of the White Mountains, lose and maintain 48 pounds and match $4800 in raised donations for each of the Vasculitis Foundation and the National Association on Mental Illness
By 48 years old, my father had been diagnosed with Wegener's Granulamatosis (now Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis or GPA) and had suffered the first of several heart attacks. My mother had been having years of increasingly challenging episodes of what we now understand to be Bipolar disorder.
The last year of quarantine with two kids at home and the subsequent move back east have taken a toll on my efforts to stay healthy. Going to honor my parents by redoubling my efforts and by helping others who have been dealt similarly challenging diagnoses.
By the time I turn 48.
